Sherpa standing on a stone high on a mountain with her arms out

Sherpa, her trail name, is a passionate and dedicated sexual assault counselor who has devoted her life to supporting survivors of sexual assault.

While her work can be mentally draining, she has found solace and rejuvenation in her love for nature and outdoor adventures.

Growing up in a rural county, Sherpa developed a deep connection with the outdoors from an early age. She spent most of her life in the northern part of Namibia, where she learned essential outdoor skills such as starting fires and cooking meals over an open flame. In addition to her outdoor knowledge, Sherpa also gained experience in tending to livestock, including cows, goats, and sheep, as well as assisting her parents in the fields.

Recognizing the therapeutic benefits of nature, Sherpa has embraced it as a means of recharging and connecting with herself. When she feels mentally drained from her work as an advocate counselor, she immerses herself in outdoor activities. Whether it's hiking through the rugged landscapes, camping under the starry skies, or simply sitting by a tranquil river, Sherpa finds solace in the beauty and serenity of the natural world.

Sherpa is eager to share her knowledge and skills of outdoor living with others. She believes that spending time in nature can be a transformative experience, fostering personal growth, self-reflection, and healing. Through workshops, seminars, and guided outdoor adventures, Sherpa aims to empower individuals to connect with nature, find their inner strength, and discover the healing power of the great outdoors.

By combining her expertise as a sexual assault advocate counselor and her passion for outdoor adventures, Sherpa hopes to create a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can heal, grow, and reclaim their lives. She understands the importance of offering support and guidance to those who have experienced trauma while providing them with the tools and knowledge to embark on their own outdoor journeys.
